Nostalgia en el estuche: 5 útiles escolares que marcaron nuestra infancia// Nostalgia in the pencil case: 5 school supplies that marked our childhood

¿Recuerdas ese olor a goma de borrar recién estrenada? ¿O la satisfacción de abrir un estuche de dos pisos con cremalleras? Hay objetos que tienen el poder de teletransportarnos directamente al pupitre del colegio, entre cuadernos de caligrafía y bocadillos de merienda.

Hoy nos ponemos nostálgicos en El Estudiante y recordamos esos "tesoros" que todos tuvimos (o deseamos tener) hace unos cuantos años.

1. Los bolígrafos de 10 colores en uno

Era el centro de todas las miradas. Un bolígrafo grueso, casi imposible de sujetar para una mano pequeña, con un mecanismo superior que te permitía elegir entre azul, rojo, verde... ¡y hasta rosa o naranja!

• El reto: Todos intentamos alguna vez bajar todos los colores al mismo tiempo. Spoiler: nunca funcionaba y el muelle terminaba saltando.

2. El borrador "mágico" azul y rojo

La leyenda urbana decía que la parte roja era para el lápiz y la parte azul era capaz de borrar la tinta del bolígrafo. ¿El resultado real? La parte azul era tan abrasiva que terminábamos haciendo un agujero en la hoja del cuaderno. Pero la fe nunca la perdíamos.

3. Los lápices de minas intercambiables

Esos lápices que no necesitaban sacapuntas porque tenían una serie de puntas de plástico que se iban intercambiando.

• El drama: Si perdías una de las minas, el sistema dejaba de funcionar y el lápiz quedaba inservible. Era una lección de responsabilidad temprana en toda regla.

4. Las reglas con purpurina y agua

Eran el "TikTok" de los años 80 y 90. Unas reglas gruesas rellenas de un líquido con estrellitas o purpurina que se movían de un lado a otro. No servían mucho para medir con precisión, pero eran el objeto más hipnótico de la clase.

5. El estuche de "botones" o automáticos

Si tenías uno de estos, eras el rey o la reina del recreo. Estuches que parecían naves espaciales: apretabas un botón y salía el sacapuntas; apretabas otro y se abría el compartimento secreto de las gomas. Eran ruidosos, pesados y absolutamente maravillosos.

Lo clásico nunca muere (pero se mejora)

Lo mejor de la papelería es que, aunque los tiempos cambien, la ilusión por estrenar algo nuevo sigue siendo la misma. En nuestra tienda conservamos ese espíritu: tenemos los clásicos de marcas de toda la vida (como los lápices de rayas amarillas y negras o las gomas de migajón), pero también las versiones modernas que no rompen el papel.

Do you remember that smell of a brand-new eraser? Or the pure satisfaction of unzipping a double-decker pencil case? Some objects have the power to teleport us straight back to our school desks, surrounded by calligraphy notebooks and afternoon snacks.

Today at El Estudiante, we’re getting nostalgic as we look back at those "treasures" we all had (or desperately wanted) a few years ago.

1. The 10-Color Multi-Pen

It was the center of attention. A chunky pen, almost too big for a small hand to hold, featuring a mechanism at the top that let you choose between blue, red, green... and even pink or orange!

• The Challenge: We all tried, at least once, to push all the sliders down at the same time. Spoiler alert: it never worked, and the spring usually ended up snapping.

2. The "Magic" Blue and Red Eraser

Urban legend claimed the red part was for pencil and the blue part could erase pen ink. The reality? The blue side was so abrasive it usually just tore a hole right through the page. But we never lost faith.

3. Pop-a-Point (Multi-Point) Pencils

These were the pencils that never needed a sharpener because they held a stack of plastic nibs that you swapped out.

• The Drama: If you lost just one of those tiny plastic nibs, the whole system stopped working, and the pencil became useless. It was a true early lesson in responsibility.

4. Water-Filled Glitter Rulers

These were the "TikTok" of the 80s and 90s. Thick rulers filled with liquid and moving stars or glitter. They weren't great for precise measurements, but they were the most hypnotic thing in the classroom.

5. The "Button" or Automatic Pencil Case

If you had one of these, you were the king or queen of recess. These cases looked like spaceships: press one button and the sharpener popped out; press another and a secret eraser compartment opened. They were noisy, heavy, and absolutely wonderful.

Classics Never Die (They Just Get Better)

The best thing about stationery is that even as times change, the excitement of starting something new remains the same.
